Former Super Eagles interim head coach Monday Sinclair has died at 88. His death was confirmed by former goalkeeper Peterside Idah, who played under him at Sharks FC and considered him a mentor.

 

Sinclair, a 1960s Green Eagles player, coached teams like Sharks FC, Niger Tornadoes, Enugu Rangers, Bayelsa heartland of Owerri and Equatorial Guinea’s national team. Known for his talent-spotting, he mentored players like Peter Rufai, Taribo West, Finidi George, and Peterside. His passing follows the recent death of Peter Rufai, marking another loss for Nigerian football.
