Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has warned that it will shut down medical services nationwide if the Federal Government fails to address its demands before the end of its 21-day ultimatum on July 23.

The association protests a circular from the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission that reduces allowances for medical and dental officers, which they consider a violation of prior agreements.

Despite ongoing negotiations, including recent meetings with government officials, the NMA has expressed frustration over the circular and the lack of mutual consultation. The association insists that unless the government meets its demands soon, industrial action, including a strike, is imminent.
