Senate has warned suspended Kogi Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan not to forcefully resume her duties until her suspension expires.

Senate spokesperson Yemi Adaramodu clarified that there is no valid court order requiring her immediate recall, despite media reports claiming otherwise.

Recall the court had issued a non-binding advisory suggesting possible amendments to Senate rules but found no breach of law in her suspension and imposed penalties for contempt, including a ₦5 million fine and a mandatory apology, which she has not yet fulfilled.

The Senate however, emphasized that Akpoti-Uduaghan’s attempt to act based on an imaginary recall order is legally unfounded and warned against any disruptive actions, stating that due process must be followed before any decision on her recall is made.
