Over 1,000 athletes from 31 countries are set to compete in the 2025 African Karate Championship in Abuja, running from July 21 to 28.

The event will feature four categories: cadet between (ages 14-15), junior between (16-17), senior, and para karate (above 18).

While Nigerian officials have been preparing logistics and accommodations for participants, with officials from other countries providing technical support, Nigeria will field 60 athletes, many of whom are seasoned champions and medalists, including Commonwealth winners.

Additionally, the African Championship General Assembly will be held during the event.
