leading Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for excluding the South-East and South-South regions from recent federal parastatal board appointments, including key agencies like the Bank of Industry. The group labeled the exclusions as a breach of the Federal Character Principle and called for immediate action to restore equity and inclusivity.
Additionally, Ohanaeze praised Tinubu and the National Assembly for approving the South East Investment Company (SEIC), part of the South East Development Commission, viewing it as a vital step for economic growth in the region.
The organization also stressed the need for professionalism and transparency in managing the SEIC and reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for fair representation and sustainable development in Nigeria.
