Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has taken significant disciplinary actions against Nigerian Correctional Service officers to promote professionalism and accountability.
After reviewing 231 cases, the board dismissed 15 officers for serious misconduct, demoted 59 for breaching standards, and issued warning letters to 42. Additionally, eight officers were compulsorily retired, 16 were exonerated, and seven were suspended pending further investigations. In a notable case, one officer was suspended and recommended for prosecution, while another had his rank reversed and was ordered to refund improperly earned salaries and benefits.
