National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) has identified and shut down 22 illegal Colleges of Education during a nationwide crackdown.
The NCCE has also conducted personnel audits and financial monitoring across all 21 federal colleges of education. President Bola Tinubu has further urged the National Universities Commission
NUC, National Board for Technical Education
NBTE, and NCCE to eliminate illegal institutions and “certificate millers” that threaten the integrity of Nigeria’s education system.
He however, has emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration among educational agencies to enhance quality and combat forgery and unrecognized institutions in Nigeria’s education sector.
