Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Kayode Opeifa has taken full responsibility for the derailment of the Abuja-Kaduna train, emphasizing that the ongoing investigation will be thorough.
While he confirmed there were no fatalities, four passengers sustained serious injuries, and some others were discharged. However, Opeifa has assured that the corporation would follow up with all 618 train passengers to address their post-trauma and safety concerns.
Prior now, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) suspended train services on the Abuja-Kaduna route following a derailment incident on Sunday, with Opeifa announcing that operations will remain halted until investigations are complete and safety is confirmed.
