National Sports Commission (NSC) has confirmed that 6,382 athletes and officials will participate in the 2025 National Youth Games, set to take place in Asaba, Delta State, from August 29 to September 6. The total includes 4,961 athletes, 635 coaches, 386 team officials, and 400 state delegates, with Gombe State’s 74-member delegation still finalizing registration.
The Games will feature 37 sporting events, aiming to promote talent discovery and youth development across Nigeria. Defending champions Team Delta are favorites but face strong competition from states like Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, and Edo.
The NSC emphasized the Games’ role in fostering unity, discipline, and national pride, calling it a platform for future stars. Scouts and coaches will be watching closely as preparations gear up for the opening ceremony on August 29.
