Federal Government is finalizing the review of the senior secondary school curriculum, as announced by Education Minister Dr. Tunji Alausa at the 2025 African Curriculum Association Conference in Abuja.
The new curriculum, described as “future-ready,” builds on the recently completed and approved Basic Education Curriculum for Primary 1–6 and JSS 1–3. It emphasizes 21st-century skills, including digital literacy, robotics, AI, and transferable skills, while promoting learner-centered, competency-based learning with a focus on national heritage and effective citizenship.
The curriculum reduces content overload to align with global standards and improve learning outcomes. Implementation is set to begin soon.
