Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has called a meeting with all domestic airlines in Abuja to address recent flight disruptions.
According to the NCAA Director of Public Relations and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, via his x handle, the meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, will focus on issues such as unruly passenger behavior, refund and compensation problems, the introduction of RFID baggage tags, flight monitoring technology, enforcement of phone switch-off rules, cabin crew protection, and improving passenger experience.
This follows NCAA’s recent statement empowering authorities to name and shame airlines that delay or cancel flights without proper passenger care, particularly when passengers are stranded late at night, for which airlines may be responsible for providing hotel accommodations.
