FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has praised President Bola Tinubu for lifting the state of emergency imposed on Rivers State in March 2025, calling it a restoration of democratic governance.
Tinubu had suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy under emergency powers, appointing a sole administrator, but announced the suspension on Wednesday, citing improved understanding in the state.
Wike said Tinubu’s decision showed his commitment to peace and democracy, noting that the initial emergency declaration saved the state from crisis. He commended Rivers people for supporting the President and urged stakeholders to unite for peace, progress, and development while warning against those seeking to exploit conflict.
