President Bola Tinubu while speaking to the Nigerian community in Saint Lucia has stated that his administration inherited a near-bankrupt economy but has implemented reforms to stabilize it, curb oil smuggling, and boost investor confidence.

He acknowledged Nigeria’s low per capita income but emphasized policies for inclusive growth. During the interactive session organized by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Tinubu addressed diaspora concerns, including high work permit costs ($2,500 annually) and the lack of a Nigerian diplomatic mission in Saint Lucia, promising diplomatic action.

The Nigerian community was praised for their contributions, with encouragements to maintain ties to Nigeria.
