Federal Government has cancelled the Independence Anniversary parade earlier scheduled for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day on October 1, 2025.
The announcement, made in a statement by Segun Imohiosen of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, gave no reason for the cancellation but stressed it does not reduce the importance of the celebration.
Government urged Nigerians and the diplomatic community to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu’s reform agenda.
Other activities under the theme “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation” will still hold as planned.
The Federal Government expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and reaffirmed commitment to marking the milestone with dignity and enthusiasm.
