The Leader of the UK Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch, has announced what she described as the “toughest reforms Britain has ever seen” in immigration policy, unveiling an assertive new border strategy targeting the detention and deportation of 150,000 illegal migrants annually.
In a video posted on her X account on Sunday, Badenoch introduced the Radical Borders Plan, which includes the creation of a Removals Force modeled after the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to revamp the UK’s border enforcement system. She stated, “My message is clear: if you’re here illegally, you will be detained and deported.”
Positioning herself as a hardliner on immigration, Badenoch criticized both Conservative and Labour governments for their mismanagement of the migration crisis. She accused Labour of overseeing record levels of illegal crossings and wasting public funds on asylum accommodations. Badenoch further emphasized, she is launching their Radical Borders Plan, the toughest reforms Britain has ever seen to border laws and operations.
