Lagos has retained its position as the top revenue-generating state in 2024, according to the National Bureau of Statistics’ (NBS) recently released report on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) at the state level.
Announced on Monday via the NBS X (formerly Twitter) handle, the report revealed that all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) collectively generated a total of ₦3.6 trillion in IGR for the year.
This figure marks a significant increase of 49.7% compared to ₦2.43 trillion recorded in 2023.
