Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has called for maximum intensity and focus from his players ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho on Friday. The match, set for 5:00 p.m. Nigeria time at New Peter Mokaba Stadium, is critical for Nigeria’s fading World Cup hopes, with a draw or loss potentially ending their campaign.
Speaking at a press conference in Polokwane on Thursday, Chelle emphasized starting the game aggressively, warning that unpredictable factors like weather, referee errors, or individual mistakes could impact the outcome.
He also acknowledged Lesotho as a strong team with a capable coach and urged his squad to approach the matchday nine clash with full commitment to secure three points.
