‎ Federal Ministry of Education has announced that senior secondary school students in arts and humanities will no longer be required to present a credit in mathematics for university and polytechnic admissions, a change from previous requirements.

Previously, students needed five credits, including mathematics and English, to gain admission. The revised guidelines aim to remove barriers while maintaining academic standards across various institutions. For universities, students need five credits including English, with mathematics mandatory for science, technology, and social science courses. Polytechnics and colleges of education have adjusted credit requirements accordingly, with specific emphasis on mathematics for science-related programs.
