Five-time Grammy Award winner, Beninese music icon Angélique Kidjo, has been announced as a 2026 Hollywood Walk of Fame star recipient, making her the first African artist to receive this honor.

With a career spanning over four decades, she is celebrated for her unique blend of Afrobeat, West African, jazz, funk, and Latin influences, and has released acclaimed albums including “Logozo,” “Black Ivory Soul,” “Eve,” “Celia,” and “Mother Nature.”

Kidjo has helped popularize African music globally and has collaborated with numerous African and international artists. Beyond her music, she is a dedicated humanitarian, serving as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and founding the Batonga Foundation to support education for girls in sub-Saharan Africa.
