Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that peace has fully returned to the state following the end of the six-month emergency rule and reconciliation among political actors.
Speaking at the opening of the 2025/2026 Legal Year in Port Harcourt, Fubara said the state is now set to recover lost ground and accelerate development, pledging collaboration with the legislature, judiciary, and other stakeholders.
He reaffirmed his commitment to judicial independence and urged judges and lawyers to uphold integrity and fairness, emphasizing that the judiciary must resist pressure and ensure equal justice for all.
