Media Officer of the Flamingos, Dorcas Koiki, has expressed optimism that despite the team’s back-to-back defeats at the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco, the girls remain focused and determined ahead of their final group match against Samoa.
Speaking with OUR reporter via a phone chat from Morocco, Koiki said the encounter against Samoa is crucial, as a win could still earn the team a spot in the next round, depending on results from other matches.
She acknowledged that while victories are always expected, the primary goal of the tournament is to help the players gain valuable experience and exposure at the global level. Koiki also revealed that several international scouts have shown interest in some of the Flamingos’ players following their display against France.
