Protests has erupted in Douala, Cameroon, with mostly young people demanding the government acknowledge opposition figure Issa Tchiroma Bakary’s claimed election victory and reveal the true results.
The demonstrations has spread to other cities, and tensions escalated when police reportedly used live ammunition, leading to two deaths and several injuries.
The unrest is seen as part of a broader movement for electoral transparency, with fears of further clashes as official results are awaited.
