Federal Government has set up a committee to resolve the outstanding debts owed to Power Generation Companies (GenCos) and develop a sustainable payment system to prevent future arrears.
This was announced by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Mahmuda Mamman, at the 10th anniversary of the Association of Power Generation Companies (APGC) in Abuja. He said the committee, approved by President Bola Tinubu, will focus on ensuring the financial stability of Nigeria’s power sector.
Mamman praised the GenCos for their resilience and patriotism, continuing operations despite severe liquidity challenges. He assured that the government is committed to addressing the sector’s debt and cash flow problems
