Super Eagles has defeated Gabon 4-1 after extra time to advance to the next stage of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers at Stade Mohammed V in Rabat, Morocco.

The match was goalless at halftime, but Akor Adams put Nigeria ahead early in the second half with Gabon equalizing near the end of regulation, pushing the game into extra time.

Moving forward Chidera Ejuke restored Nigeria’s lead, with Osimhen adding two more goals to secure the victory. In addition, Nigeria’s strong defense, led by Benjamin Frederick and Calvin Bassey, kept Gabon at bay. With this Victory, Nigeria will face either Cameroon or DRC on November 16 for a place in the intercontinental playoff.
