‎ United Kingdom has threatened to impose visa bans on citizens of Angola, Namibia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo unless the countries agree to take back irregular migrants, including criminals.

The warning comes ahead of Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood’s announcement of what officials call the most sweeping asylum reforms in modern UK history.

The measures—aimed at reducing small-boat crossings and countering the rising popularity of Reform UK—would penalise countries that show “low cooperation” on migrant returns. Home Office Minister Alex Norris said the affected nations have one month to comply, with similar sanctions possible for others
