Everton has earned a stunning and rare 1–0 victory at Old Trafford despite playing with 10 men for over 75 minutes. Idrissa Gueye was sent off just 13 minutes into the match after slapping teammate Michael Keane during a heated exchange, an incident reminiscent of past infamous teammate bust-ups. Everton had already lost captain Seamus Coleman to injury moments earlier, making their situation even more precarious.
Against the run of expectations, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall put Everton ahead with a superb curling strike from the edge of the box. Manchester United, who would have moved into the top four with a win, dominated possession but lacked composure and cutting edge.
Despite efforts from Bruno Fernandes, Bryan Mbeumo, and Mason Mount—and a late Joshua Zirkzee header—Jordan Pickford and Everton’s defence held firm.
The defeat ended United’s five-match unbeaten run and highlighted ongoing inconsistency under Ruben Amorim on the anniversary of his first game in charge.
