Argentina has booked their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final after a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over England.

England took the lead in the 55th minute through Anthony Gordon, but Enzo Fernández equalised in the 85th minute before Lautaro Martínez headed home a stoppage-time winner from a Lionel Messi cross to seal victory for the defending champions.

The win sends Argentina into Sunday’s final against Spain, while England will face France in the third-place playoff. Messi’s assist for the winning goal further underlined his impressive performances throughout the tournament.
