Federal Government has dispatched a high-level delegation to Morocco to formalise a partnership aimed at developing Nigeria’s first National Agro-Productivity System to strengthen agricultural planning and food security.
Led by Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hadejia, the delegation will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with OCP Africa and Ground Truth Analytics to establish a geospatial intelligence platform that will provide real-time data on crop locations, land availability, yield projections and food security threats.
The initiative, coordinated by the Presidential Food Systems Coordinating Unit (PFSCU), will begin with a six-month pilot programme in three states before nationwide implementation. The partnership forms part of the Federal Government’s broader efforts to tackle food insecurity, improve agricultural data systems and boost productivity through technology-driven planning.
