The Lagos State Government has paid N3 billion in compensation to 331 property owners whose lands were acquired for strategic road projects across the state.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu presented the cheques, saying the payment was in line with the Land Use Act and the government’s legal and moral obligation to affected residents. He said the road projects are expected to improve connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, boost commerce and create economic opportunities.
Sanwo-Olu assured residents with genuine claims that their compensation would be paid after due verification, while warning against fraudulent claims.
