Borno South Senator Ali Ndume has denied allegations that he received ransom money or acted as an intermediary between kidnappers and the government.
Speaking on National Television , Ndume said he had never seen N1 billion in cash, dismissing claims linking him to ransom negotiations over the abduction of residents of Ngoshe, Borno State. The senator said his involvement was limited to alerting security agencies after receiving information about a video allegedly released by Boko Haram or ISWAP demanding N5 billion in ransom.
Ndume maintained that he does not support negotiating with terrorists or paying ransom, and called on security agencies to investigate the allegations, describing the matter as a national security issue.
