Iran and the United States have temporarily halted hostilities in the Gulf, providing a brief break for shipping and the oil industry.
Iran announced it had stopped retaliatory attacks against U.S. allies in the Middle East, while U.S. UN Ambassador Mike Waltz stated that President Donald Trump was “giving talks some space” despite forces remaining “locked and loaded.”
This pause follows two nights without U.S. military strikes, after 13 consecutive nights of attacks since April, marking the largest escalation in nearly five months. Iran’s army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia confirmed the halt of retaliatory operations, attributing it to a strategic shift.
