Super Falcons have arrived in Rabat, Morocco, in style dressed in traditional green-and-white Adire gowns with matching headwraps, as they prepared to compete for a record 11th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
The players celebrated their arrival on social media, sharing videos and photos in their vibrant outfits; Esther Okoronkwo, Jennifer Echegini, and Michelle Alozie posted a humorous “Rich Aunty Vibes” video, while goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie entertained fans with comic skits.
Nigeria’s team had recently completed a 10-day training camp in Casablanca, where head coach Justine Madugu finalized preparations, including a 2-1 friendly victory over Tanzania. Nigeria, the most successful team in WAFCON history, will open their Group C campaign against Malawi on Tuesday at the Al Madina Stadium, followed by matches against Zambia and Egypt. Additionally, the Nigeria Football Federation unveiled a special 10-star jersey to honor the team’s record 10 WAFCON titles, symbolizing Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football.
