
Team Nigeria has reaffirmed its position as Africa’s top-performing nation at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games after seven days of competition. According to the National Sports Commission’s X handle, Nigeria has won a total of 16 medals, eight gold, five silver, and three bronze placing fifth overall and making it the highest-ranked African country at the Games.
Nigerian athletes excelled across disciplines such as Para Powerlifting, Weightlifting, Athletics, Boxing, and 3×3 Basketball, delivering memorable moments including record-breaking achievements and historic victories.
As the competition enters its final stages, Nigeria remains focused on adding more medals and ending the Games on a high note, highlighting its growing influence in international sports.
