President Bola Tinubu is expected to receive the Executive National Policing Bill for review on September 3, 2026, the Presidency has disclosed.

Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, said the bill is part of a seven-week process aimed at developing a lawful and sustainable federal and state policing system.

He also announced the launch of nationalpolicingbill.com, where Nigerians can submit memoranda and position papers to contribute to the legislation before it is transmitted to the National Assembly. Gbajabiamila stressed that state police must not become tools for political control, adding that national standards would be maintained to protect citizens’ rights and ensure accountability.
