Sudanese General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi have met in Cairo to coordinate efforts amid Sudan’s ongoing civil war and regional tensions over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
They discussed the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, which has caused tens of thousands of deaths and displaced over 14 million people, and expressed concerns about the dam’s impact, linking recent flooding to its construction.
The leaders aimed to present a united front on regional issues, particularly regarding the dam on the Blue Nile, highlighting their shared interests and challenges.
