Ghanaian-American singer, Amaarae, has stated that the global momentum of Afrobeats is stuck .
In an interview, she emphasized that African music, including Afrobeats, needs to evolve fearlessly, as some artists are hesitant to experiment due to financial success with a particular sound.
While she highlighted Rema’s album ‘HEIS’ as an example of positive musical evolution that moved the genre forward, Amaarae urged African artists to push boundaries and innovate to reignite excitement in the music scene.
