Angola fans filled Luanda’s 12,700-capacity Kilamba Arena to watch Angola reclaim the AfroBasket title on Sunday, defeating Mali 70–43.
While Angola led throughout the game, establishing a 20-point lead by the third quarter, with Childe Dudao scoring 16 points and earning MVP chants. Selton Miguel added 12 points.
On the other hand, Mali’s top scorers were Siriman Kanoute with 14 and Aliou Diarra with 11, but Mali’s 43 points marked the lowest scoring total in AfroBasket in the past three decades. However, Angola finished the tournament with a perfect 6-0 record, while Mali ended at 4-3, their first appearance in the final.
