CEO of the Association of Power Generation Companies, Joy Ogaji, has opposed threats to disconnect GenCos from the grid, warning that unstable transmission and market issues are harming their plants and increasing losses.
The GenCos also demanded regulations to ensure immediate payment of their revenue. This response follows the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission’s (NERC) warning that GenCos failing to install the Free Governor Control (FGC) by November 30, 2025, could face penalties or disconnection.
