Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced plans to mobilize members nationwide for a rally on August 26, 2025, to pressure the Federal Government to address longstanding demands.

The rally, announced by Zonal Coordinator Adeola Oyebisi Egbedokun at a press conference, will involve suspending academic activities across universities and serve as a decisive response to government inaction.

The union’s National Executive Council NEC has given the government until August 28 to respond, warning of further consequences if issues remain unresolved after that date. ASUU further emphasized that they have maintained dialogue for over two years but have now reached their limit.
