A Boeing 747 leased to Emirates has veered off the runway shortly after landing at around 3:50 a.m. in Hong Kong, crashing into the sea.
While the plane broke into two and partially submerged after colliding with a patrol vehicle outside the safety fence, the aircraft’s four crew members were rescued unharmed with Divers finding two victims trapped in a submerged car after a 40-minute search.
In the meantime, the Hong Kong Air Accident Investigation Authority is examining possible causes, including aircraft systems, operations, and maintenance.
