China has called on the international community to respect Nigeria’s sovereignty following a threat of military action by the United States. The Chinese government expressed its support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration, praising its efforts in guiding Nigeria’s development according to its own conditions.
According to Mao Ning, spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry, China opposes any foreign interference justified by religion or human rights, including sanctions or military threats. This stance comes after the US threatened Nigeria with possible military intervention over alleged persecution of Christians.
