Dangote Petroleum Refinery has denied a viral video claiming it is distributing petrol via dispatch riders through an initiative called ‘FuelUp,’.
Dangote officials confirmed they have no connection to the video and do not sell fuel through bikes; noting the refinery primarily supplies fuel to bulk buyers.
Recently, Dangote imported CNG trucks to support direct fuel distribution and is expanding its capacity from 650,000 to 1.4 million barrels per day to meet Nigeria’s rising fuel demand. The refinery, located in Lagos, is one of the largest globally and is investing in modern technology and infrastructure to optimize operations and ensure environmental compliance, aiming to strengthen Nigeria’s energy sector and regional market competitiveness.
