Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited has halted self-collection gantry sales of petroleum products effective September 18, 2025, to promote its free delivery scheme for retail outlets and prevent sales to unregistered marketers.
The company emphasized that payments made after this date will be rejected but reassured that its free delivery service remains operational for current and new customers. This move is part of ongoing operational adjustments amid a dispute with the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN).
The conflict centers on issues like unionization efforts, logistics costs, subsidies, and supply stability, with the refinery asserting its right to protect its operations and refusing to absorb additional logistics costs claimed by marketers.
