Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has announced a major reorganization of its operations and workforce, citing repeated sabotage by staff that threatened the safety of its 650,000 barrels per day facility.

In a letter dated September 24, 2025, the company instructed affected employees to hand over company property and await clearance for their entitlements, emphasizing that this was a targeted effort to address sabotage issues.

A senior official clarified that this was not a mass sacking but a temporary reorganization aimed at identifying and preventing sabotage, with plans to reabsorb affected workers once issues are resolved. The refinery continues to operate normally, and only those involved in sabotage are affected.
