The Federal Government has deployed additional troops to Zamfara State to combat bandits and other criminal elements.
Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, stated that troops have been given direct orders to decisively tackle insecurity without waiting for higher approval. He emphasized that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is committed to addressing nationwide criminality.
Zamfara has been a hotspot for bandit attacks, including the recent killing of five policemen and three Community Protection Guards along Gusau-Funtuwa road, and previous attacks in Katsina State.
