The Federal Government has assured Nigerians and investors that the new tax laws will be implemented fairly, transparently, and without intrusion into personal bank accounts. Chairman of the National Tax Policy Implementation Committee, Joseph Tegbe, spoke after the committee’s inauguration by Finance Minister Wale Edun in Abuja, stressing that fears of account monitoring or probes were unfounded.

Tegbe said the reforms aim to boost economic stability, improve revenue, and protect vulnerable groups, noting that although the start date remains January 1, nothing harmful or destabilising will be implemented. He added that wide consultation with businesses, civil society, professional bodies, and subnational governments would continue alongside implementation.
