Nigerian government has begun reviewing policies to attract more foreign investment, enhance service quality, and align with technological innovations in telecommunications.

Announced by National Communications Conmission’s Executive Vice Chairman Dr. Aminu Maida, this move aims to adapt to global industry dynamics and ensure stakeholders—including consumers and Mobile Network Operators which are aligned on regulation, enforcement, service standards, profitability, and internet safety.

Driven by the Minister of Communications, Dr. Bosun Tijani, the review is expected to boost sector investment and government revenue. Maida addressed consumer concerns about data depletion and service quality, clarifying that data usage is influenced by device and app types rather than provider practices.
