Nigerian government has intensified efforts to maximize benefits from the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) through an Advanced Workshop on Rules of Origin held in Abuja.
The training involved key trade agencies and private sector representatives, aiming to promote inclusive trade growth as part of President Bola Tinubu’s agenda for regional integration and industrial development.
Organized in partnership with the World Customs Organisation and facilitated by the Nigeria Customs Service, the workshop seeks to build capacity among businesses and experts to understand and comply with AfCFTA rules. This initiative is expected to boost Nigeria’s GDP by up to 40% by 2030 and enhance Nigeria’s position in both intra-African and global markets.
