The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated ₦1 billion through her Renewed Hope Initiative to support victims of violent attacks in Plateau State.
During her visit to Jos, she made it clear that the funds were raised privately and not sourced from government allocations. She emphasized that her commitment is driven by genuine love for the nation, not political interests.
She called on traditional and religious leaders to promote peace within their communities and urged men to take responsibility in safeguarding their environment, in line with the patriotic call of the national anthem. She also prayed for lasting peace in Plateau, pointing out that a child’s warm welcome to her was a sign of hope.
In appreciation, Governor Caleb Mutfwang commended her compassion and described her as the “mother of the nation.”
