Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team, the Flamingos, will depart Abuja early today Wednesday, October 8, to begin final preparations for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
Led by Head Coach Bankole Olowookere, the team will camp in Casablanca for two international friendlies against New Zealand (October 10) and Paraguay (October 14), before moving to Rabat for the tournament. The Flamingos are in Group D with Canada, France, and Samoa, and will open their campaign against Canada on October 19, followed by France and Samoa. Coming into the tournament confident after 10 tune-up matches in which they scored 44 goals without conceding, they aim to surpass their quarter-final finish in the previous edition.
